Bluebonnets 2010

Every year, since Carson was 1, I have made an attempt at getting pictures of the boys in the bluebonnets.  Some years have definitely been better than others.  I remember when Cannon was just a couple of weeks old, we attempted it.  We couldn't wake him up and Cade was running around like a wild indian.  This year, we used a photographer.  We were late and the bluebonnets were beaten down and pretty much dead.  Cannon was a total toot that morning, but somehow, we managed a few decent shots.  I know that I am biased, but I really think that these boys are all beyond cute!!

Just for fun - A look back at some old bluebonnet pics.  This is Carson in 2005.  We drove up to Chappel Hill that year and did pictures.  It was such a fun day!  I was pregnant with Cade, so Carson had the joy of being an only child at that time!!

This was in 2006.  Poor Cade and his allergies.  I remember that he started crawling this day.  That made taking pics of him a little difficult, especially while trying the keep him away from the grass.

The famous 2008 picture...notice Cade in the background.  So funny!!
2009 photos should have been a blog entry last year...you can find it under older posts.  It is so fun to see how much the boys have changed over the years.

Matt's 35th Birthday

Oh, I am SO, SO far behind in this blog....4 months behind, to be exact.  I even contemplated throwing the towel because the thought of catching it up is overwhelming.  However, I can't bare to do it just yet.  So, here we go!!  Posts will be brief until we get it all caught up!!

Matt's birthday falls right in the middle of Spring baseball, so he kind of gets the shaft!  His birthday fell during the week this year too, which is never really fun!  So, the Sunday before, we had our families over for burgers, beer and cake...and a little water slide action for the kiddos.

I had this awesome cake made for him.  I was so excited about it!!  It didn't taste all that great, but it sure looked cool!

The kids all sang happy birthday to him and helped blow out the candles.  I am pretty sure that we won't get to blow out any candles of our own for another 10 years or so?

The obligatory waterslide pic...guess who is jumping?  Shocker.

Easter 2010!

Bare with me, as I have lots of Easter photos to share.  The boys were all so fun this year, in their own ways.  First off, we visited the bunny.  Much to my surprise, they all did great.  Cannon didn't even freak out, which was shocking!!
We dyed eggs over at the Rob Fleming park with Avery and Arden on Good Friday.  I must say, this might have been one of our brightest moves yet!  No mess at home to clean up and the kids had a blast!
Cannon wasn't so sure about it, and not really into hanging out in one spot, either!
Carson and Avery took the egg dying quite seriously!

These two, not so much!!

And a cute pic that I snapped of Cannon, while chasing him since he wouldn't stay under the pavillion.
I hid the plastic eggs for the boys all over the yard, many, MANY times.  I also hid a few confetti eggs for them the day before Easter and they were a huge hit, as always.  They are trying to hit each other here.

And here...

Cannon could have cared less about hunting eggs!  He kept putting them up on a tee and hitting them off with his bat.  He's obsessed!  The boys also like to fill up the bottom of this play thing with balls for him and he LOVES it.  He calls it his ball house.  He is filthy dirty, but having fun!

The Easter Bunny came to see us!!  Look at this loot....before the boys tore into it.

And after they tore into it.  Holy disaster.
Then, we all headed over to Mom and Larry's for Easter.  They have the best yard for hunting eggs, and confetti egg fights...plenty of room to run.  The Blake's and Angie's mom all joined us this year and it was so fun!!
All of the kids getting ready to hunt!
The boys on a hunt.
Ummm, someone was a tad bit too competitive and got angry when other people would beat him to the eggs.  Mind you, the plastic eggs were all empty (as to avoid fights...that didn't work) and I only hid a dozen confetti eggs.  I bought enough confetti eggs for all of them to have at least a dozen and gave them to them after they were done hunting. Not okay, for this competitor!
Angry, much?

He got over it, eventually!  Here are several shots of the confetti egg fights.
Cannon wasn't even safe!
Going after Grammy!  Notice Cannon trying to break and enter the Blake's suburban in the background.  You can't trust that one!
Getting Daddy!  Cade had so much fun.

Carson got his revenge!
I love this picture of Matt and Cade!  You can just see how happy the little toot was!

Cannon and Grammy.
The whole family, and we are all looking in the same direction!!  Not an easy thing to accomplish!
What a perfect Easter Weekend, we had!!
