Carson is 5!

Carson turned 5 on November 24th! I can't believe it. He is just getting so big and so mature and is an absolute joy to be around, 95% of the time. I stayed home from work on Monday to spend his big day with him and we had a blast. We started off by going to Dr. Wilber's office for a checkup (no shots...I asked before I made that appt on his actualy bday). He is still my tall and skinny guy and he's just perfect!
Then, I took Carson and Cade up to Baybrook to Ridemakerz and let them each build their own cars. They had a blast doing that.
We had lunch out and then came home for Cade to take a nap. I didn't even have Carson "pretend" to take a nap and just played outside with him all afternoon and we had a blast.Cannon hung out in one of our many ride on toys and had fun too. When Daddy got home, he got even more presents from us and his brothers. He had called us out for not giving him one at his birthday party! Stinker. Here is the birthday boy with his two best pals...And his sweet baby brother. And our big 8 month old...
We then let him pick where to go for dinner...Joe's Crab Shack. Matt and I hate this place, but Carson and Cade love it. What is better than a birthday cheers with your brother? Before anyone calls CPS...it was root beer. I bet that we will have many more pictures like this with the real thing though as the years roll by..I absolutely couldn't believe it, but Carson got on this broom, wore the hat and giddy up'd around the Joe's Crabshack patio while everyone sang happy birthday to him.
Cannon clapping for him!
Cannon pulling Cade's hair..
We then ended the day with ice cream at marble slab for the boys. What a great day with our kiddos!!
Some random pics from the rest of the weekend...
Cannon pulling up with his "stinker" look.
Oh, and Carson came down with strep throat on Thanksgiving and felt awful! Here he was yesterday, relaxing with Cannon.
Until Cannon got too rough.
Cannon has now graduated to the big bathtub.
And loves it!

Cannon has started giving real kisses too....and guess who was the 1st recipient? Not me....Carson! Cannon just adores him! He is usually really sweet with Carson and really rough with Cade. Figures....that is how they treat him!
I don't know when I will update this again. It looks like we might finally be selling this house!! We are both happy to be out, but sad to leave our friends and neighbors (and our house too, that we love...). The good news is that we will be moved before Christmas, the bad news is that I don't know how we are going to pack all of this up in three weeks! OMG. Matt is going out of town all next week too...say a prayer for our sanity, please!! We have put in an offer on a house in The Woodlands and have fingers crossed that everything will fall into place. We're going to busy!

Carson's 5th Birthday Party

We had Carson's 5th Birthday Party on Saturday. It was at Pitch Putt and Play in Pearland and we played games, ate pizza, had cupcakes and then rode on the bumper boats. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the dads! We totally lucked out and had phenomenal weather! I was really worried that it was going to be freezing and then we would have soaking wet kids on top of that, but it was a perfect day!! Cannon and Sloan were chatting it up and taking it all in. These two can't wait until they can play in the batting cages and squirt the big kids from the bumper boats!

Angie is so excited to win a million tickets! Maybe she got enough to get a piece of candy? Nah...probably not!Arden was a dancing queen...

Cute Blake had more fun than anyone, but Katherine, not so much!

I'm not sure what I was thinking doing bumper boats for this age group...the parents had to ride too with some of them, and well, the kids soaked us!Carson was in a boat with Austin and Jeremy...his two pals from school.

As you will see from these next pictures, the dads totally enjoyed it! They were using their poor children as shields. The kids were soaked at the end.

Cade soaked.

Matt played in the batting cages...

After the party, we came back here and Carson opened his presents. He got so much stuff! That is one rotten kid. He loves transformers! That is a good thing, because he got a lot of them, like he had asked for...unfortunately for me, I'm just not bright enough to figure these things out. They are hard! I can put together a heck of a barbie ensemble, but you need to be an engineer to do a transformer! They have levels on the boxes for the difficulty. Carson looked at one that was a 3 and told Trish and I, "IT's way over your heads!". Nice. He did get this nifty razor from Grammy and Poppy though and he LOVES it! He told Matt that he was going to wash it every day....I've had fun riding it too. Shhh....

I have a ton of more pictures, but I'm out of steam for tonight! I will get them up onto Kodak Gallery and send them out for everyone to see. The big boys are going to see Grammy and Poppy tomorrow, so maybe, just maybe I will get to it tomorrow evening. I have a lot of pictures from Carson's "real" birthday today too...stay tuned!

Pilgrims and Indians and other fun at school

The boys had a busy week last week at school! Each day was a different theme, but I just wasn't very diligent and didn't get pics every day to document it. Our mornings are usually pretty nutty around here.
On Monday, they had "Crazy Hat" day. Well, since we don't have any crazy hats, I told them that they could wear their cowboy hats to school, which they were thrilled about. However, Carson wasn't wearing the hat without the boots...you know how that boy has to match! So, needless to say, if Carson was wearing them, Cade was wearing them. Cannon was even in his cowboy hat before we got out the door. Samey, samey....no picture of this!

Tuesday was backwards day. Cade thought this was the best idea EVER and was thrilled to wear his shirt backwards! Carson on the other hand was having no part of that. He went to school in uniform, facing the correct direction.

Wednesday was house slipper day. Again, Cade was thrilled with this. They both have these slippers in which one in McQueen and one is Mater. Cade has always loved them...Carson has always argued that they don't match (I tend to agree with him, but they are still cute, and I "get it"). So, Cade wore house shoes, Carson carried them in his bag, but wore his regular tennis shoes.

Thursday was dress up day for the Thanksgiving Feast. They were both okay with this, Carson especially because it meant that he could wear a belt. OMG, that boy loves his belts!
Here is Carson posing by the tree...
And Cade doing whatever it is that Cade does...notice the shirt already untucked and we haven't even gotten into the car.
Then, trying to get a picture of both, but you will see that Carson is pinching Cade because he isn't acting appropriately.
Anyway, both boys were thrilled with Thursday because Daddy joined them at school for the feast! Big fun!

Friday, they were to wear red and blue. Well, they had worn their red uniform shirts on Wed. to match the McQueen slippers, so I put them in long sleeved red or blue t-shirts with a cute pull over and called it a day. Quite frankly, I was over theme week! Anyway, Carson actually told his teacher, "My mom just doesn't care anymore...she sent me in play clothes!". OMG. Wanted to die...the t-shirt was brand new, never worn and the pull over was quite nice. To top it off, they were dressing up like pilgrims and indians anyway! Oh, and Carson also got up Friday morning and wanted to be called "Standing Bear"...that was his Indian name. I went up for their parties and they both had a great time.
Here is Cade in his Indian get up.
And Carson, I mean, "Standing Bear". Standing Bear and his BFF, Austin...Carson's entire class.
Carson's class got together with another Pre-K4 class to sing songs. My Standing Bear just stood there and stared at them. I asked his teacher if he always did that, and she said, "yes, he is just not into the singing bit!". She said that he is a leader and a great student, etc., but he just refuses to act and sing. He is getting quite shy, or just too mature one! He's turning 5, not 15!!

The Turkey Craft

So, Paw-paw and Nana came over this evening to do a craft with the boys (mostly Nana...I think my Dad was just along to watch the debacle unfold...). Cyndi called last week and wanted to come make these super cute turkeys with them. Little did she know, she'd be doing all the work while they got hyped up on sugar and crushed her dreams of a super crafty idea! They had a blast though!!
Things started out pretty peaceful!
And Cade (again with the awful cheese) posing with his turkey.
And a finished product here.
And on to Carson's finished products...he decided it was more fun to smear around the icing, eat all of the candy and just make "wheels" instead.
nd Nana's turkeys...notice the adorable boxes! She had high hopes of the boys making enough turkeys to fill these up and taking them to their friends. Maybe next year?

Matt was just happy to see chocolate when he got home! Seriously though, the boys had a great time doing it...even if you can't tell from the finished turkeys!

A whole lot of nothing!

Well, I haven't posted an update in over two weeks...I think that might be a record since I started this blog! We've been super busy. It seems like we are running in a million directions these days and have just had a lot going on.
For starters, Matt and I went to a wedding the first weekend in November and had a great time. Here is a photo from that fun wedding with the beautiful bride, Sarah, Matt's mom, our neice Abby and Matt's sister.
Carson being silly in my closet. He is quite the fashionista these days! Matt took him to the store with him and he actually picked out Matt's pink shirt and tie. Matt said that he asked him about one tie and Carson said, "NO WAY, Dad!! No, way!!". I'm glad that somebody is trying to help out our resident fashion disaster. ;-)Cannon modeling a vintage SWT hat in my closet....can you tell that I do anything to entertain them while I'm getting ready?
These pictures are from us watching a UT game outside. The kiddos had a blast. The girls and kids were all inside and I couldn't figure out where all of the boys had disappeared to, especially during the big game. We went outside and found that they had set up a giant TV in the garage and were hiding from us. NICE. Here is Carson with his friend Lane. They are on the same t-ball team and Lane's dad is the coach. Talk about a patient guy!
My little Longhorn fan...Carson just wrapped up the fall ball season yesterday. He really enjoyed it again! We are so happy that he is into this t-ball thing. Matt might have gone into mourning if he wasn't!Carson and Cade being silly the other evening. I'm not sure what they were laughing at.Carson and Cade torturing Cannon. Oh, and Cade with his awful "CHEESE". He squints for every picture these days and his eyes are always closed. Any tips on how to break that one? He won't stop!
I really have to watch them because Cannon is crawling everywhere and they try to pick him up and move him all of the time. He weighs 22 lbs! Cannon is also pulling up on EVERYTHING. I'm not quite ready for this!! He cut a top tooth over the weekend too. That makes three teeth for my baby!
Here is Cannon hanging out in the swing (contained, nice and safe...).
And my bad baby under the Christmas tree.
There are no ornaments around the bottom. YES, we have started the decorating over here! Those of you that come around our house during the holidays know that I tend to get a bit carried away. Clark Griswald and I decided to get the process going this past weekend because it takes forever for Clark to change out all of the burnt out lights every year on the pre lit trees....not to mention decorating it, the entry tree, the garland...the village and then outside!
Here is a random pic of the two angels in the shower one morning. I'm not really sure what else to say about this one, other than it will look great in their wedding videos.

And lastly, one of Matt and I on our way out to a U of H function on Friday night...another fun adult night for us! We've had quite a few of those lately!!
