Cannon is potty trained!!

Whoo hoo!!!  Cannon decided to potty train himself back in mid August.  At not quite two and half, he swore off diapers.  Normally, I would have been thrilled about this, I just wasn't quite ready to go there yet!!  He was switching classes on the first day of school and was moving to a class with a potty.  I was sort of wanting to let the school help me out on that.  None the less, we went for it.  It was pretty much a breeze....Other than the fact that he only wanted to run around naked and pee in the grass.  Is that inherent?  By mid-September, he was full on potty trained, to the point of not needing pull ups, even at naptime.  My little genius!!  He was the earliest of the three to be potty trained, and I surely didn't see that coming!!

In other Cannon news, here is a recent pic of him, covered in mud.  He and Cade were dipping their heads in a mud hole in the back yard and claimed to washing their hair.  What was I saying about him being a genius?  Maybe not quite a genius!  Of course, this was on a afternoon where I was trying to rush through Carson's homework and reading and get out the door for one of our many practices.  We had to hold up and shower the little guys.  Grrrr.....needless to say, I was in need of a glass of wine that evening!  BOYS.  Notice it all around his mouth, I'm assuming that he ate the mud too?  Wouldn't surprise me in the least.
This is just one more reminder that he is not a baby anymore, but is turning into one of the big boys.  Time is flying by way too fast!!

Dewberry Farms!!

Oh, we just love this place!  We were unable to make it last year with both boys playing ball and our nutty schedule in general, but we made time this year!  Trish and Ryan met us out there as well (Doug was busy with that pesky tax deadline!).

Cade, Ryan, Carson and Cannon all poking their heads through.

First stop, the big bumpy slide!  This is the biggest hit each year!

Cade and Ryan going down.  You'll note that Cade isn't in any more of the slide pics.  I was watching all four boys while Trish and Matt stood in line for tickets.  Well, guess who wandered off?  Not far, thankfully, but enough to give me a heart attack, so I strapped him in the stroller for a time out!!  He got the message and stayed with the group after that!!  Cade.  Never a dull moment with him.

Carson, always the big brother, was more than happy to take Cannon down until he got the hang of it!
But, eventually, the little guy was ready to go down all by himself.  Just another little reminder of how big he really is getting now.  Sniff!
He did want me to go down with him later!

Next stop, the Pumpkin Patch.  However, we didn't really find the pumpkin patch for picture taking.  I'm pretty sure that you were supposed to hop on a hay ride and head out for that, but I was in the middle of a major allergy attack (thank you, ragweed!!) and okay with our little make shift patch.  We gathered a few loose pumpkins together and went for it.  There was no way that they were going to all cooperate anyway, so it was not a big loss!!  This is as good as it got.

Cannon had fully aborted mission at this point and was taking off down the trail.

The big boys LOVED rolling around in these things!  I think that I should look into getting one for the backyard.  It would beat them digging daily back there!!

They did these swings, but not for long!  My two sissy boys were yelling to get off!!
They jumped....big shocker, Cade was a maniac!

 We rode bikes.

Daddy and Cannon had a lemonaide break.

The whole crew, with four of five kind of looking the correct direction.

 And finally, we were beat!

Another successfull year at Dewberry Farms!

Labor Day Weekend

Katy found a great lake house on the internet early in the summer for us to rent over Labor Day weekend.  I checked the prior year football calendar  (current schedule wasn't released yet...) to make sure that we wouldn't have any games.  It looked like everything picked up after Labor Day, which makes great sense, right?  Well, wrong!!  SCFL had their first game on Labor Day weekend, in Navasota, no less!!  So, Matt and decided that I would go up on Friday am with Cade and Cannon and then he and Carson would meet up on Saturday, after the game.  I hated to miss his first game, but that was just nuts!!  Cade was in heaven for getting to go without his big brother...that meant that he had first dibs on a bed and got the top bunk!!  He and Ridge also got some great bonding time in and played really well together.  Here are some great pics that I took of my handsome Cade on the first evening out on the fabulous deck.

Most of Saturday was spent playing around on the deck and waiting for our other people to arrive.  Thorsen, being the fearless new mom that she is, came up with Nate, who was 3 weeks old (along with Scott, of course).  He was so good and slept most of the time.  Katy and I just laughed as neither one of us would have been brave enough to do that with a newborn, much less with 5 other boys under the age of 6 there too!  Anyway - Cade having fun on the deck.
Cade having fun in the water with Uncle Scott.  Scott is such a trooper with my boys and they love him!

Carson enjoyed being the ball retriever and getting things that fell over.
Nate doing what he does best!
Another beautiful sunset!!

The boys made s'mores that night and had a blast!!  Ridge was so excited to teach my boys all about it!!
More fun for the boys and a workout for the Dads!

On Sunday, we rented a boat and spent the day out on the lake,  We all had a great time!!  At first, it looked like Cannon wasn't going to have any part of it.  He freaked when we went to get on the dock and step onto the boat.  It was a little rough out there and I think that it scared him.  Once we got the boat moving though, we was fine!  He chatted up his Daddy and snuggled right up.  Sweet baby!!

He spent part of the ride cuddled up next to Aunt Jen.

 These two had a ball!!
