Awwww! He speaks!

Cannon has a word! AND, it is the most wonderful first word that a baby can speak!!! "Mama!". I am so excited and it totally warms my heart every single time he says it (remind me of that when he is 4 1/2 and talking back). Anyway, he's been babbling up a storm for a while, but I really think that this is the real thing! He says it when I walk into a room and he holds his arms up for me to get him. I was telling Matt about it and he of course didn't believe me...until all the boys were playing on the floor in the game room and Cannon was crawling/scooting over to me saying "mama, mama, mama!" while trying to get to me. I'm totally counting it as his first word and I am so proud!
Here is Cannon looking so cute after dinner last night...
And a silly smile in his swing...check out those blue eyes!

The other two boys have been playing t-ball really well together in the evenings (tonight NOT included...had a huge fight and had to pack it up early to spare the neighbors from the screaming). Here is Carson showing Cade how to line up the ball and bat.
And Carson wearing the catcher's gear, which he would never wear during a game (not sure why, but he pretty much refuses), but it is essential for backyard baseball.
And Cade batting.
I know it is just how it is with siblings, and having a sister myself, you would think that I would be used to it! However, I just don't know how they can be so incredibly sweet to each other one minute and beating the heck out each other another. I really do enjoy those sweet moments and am so happy that our boys are close enough in age to truly be best friends!

Dewberry Farm

Well, we loaded up the fam yesterday (and Doug and Ryan..) and headed to Dewberry Farms, way the heck out in the middle of nowhere. That place is really great though! Lots and lots for the kiddos to do. With the awesome weather, everyone else in the entire Houston area had the same idea! It was still fun, but super crowded.

Cannon snoozing on the way there.
The first stop was the bumpy slide. The boys love this! We had to do that several times.

Next stop was the pumpkin patch because we figured we had to do that before they were filthy and sweaty. As usual. all action shots because they didn't want to stop for pictures. I had also made them a heck of a deal and was bribing them with new toys for a good picture, but they weren't going for it.

Somehow, Doug got a great picture of all of looking in the same direction. Maybe he ought to be our Christmas photographer?
Cannon is now mobile and he just wanted to check everything out. Here he is checking out the pumpkin stem.
And sitting on the pumpkins...
The boys all had fun jumping on the big pillow. Carson managed to figure out how to do a flip...you know...he has to make the most simple things dangerous.
We stopped to check out the pretty flowers.

Cannon laughing in his stroller. Look at those teeth!

The boys were of course way more interested in the tractors than anything else on the farm.
And check out how filthy dirty Cade was when we got home. NONE of the boys (other than Cannon) napped after all of that fun. They were so excited to be together that they just couldn't chill out and sleep! The adults were pooped...

We had a great day!!

Busy October

We have had so much going on! Here a few random pictures over the last couple of weeks.

Fall ball is finally gearing up, after the Hurricane really derailed a lot of the plans! Carson's team is "The Knights", and they are actually pretty good! It was so fun to watch them play last Sunday and not get railroaded like they did in the spring. I guess that is the beauty of the draft and knowing which kids to try and pick up!

Here is Carson on his way to his first practice.

And after his first game on Sunday.

Not much new to report on Cade. He has just been busy being his usual crazy self, and looking cute doing it!

Here he is on the porch...he wanted me to take his picture since I was trying to get one of Carson on the way to practice.

And Cade hiding in the cabinet, after he pulled everything out of it, of course. In this picture, the boys claimed to be playing "library". I've never seen a mess this big in a library, but hey, they were having fun and not fighting!

Cannon will be 7 months tomorrow!! I CAN'T believe it! He now has two teeth...

And is trying his hardest to crawl! He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth so fast...I'm actually quite scared of how quickly he's going to take off when he finally gets the coordination going. My days are numbered...

Matt and I went to his class reunion on Saturday night and had a blast! It was so fun to see everyone and catch up. If you want the full story and pictures...go check them out on facebook. Good times!!
We hope that everyone is having a great fall! It sure has been action packed for us this far!

Race for the Cure Weekend

It has been a while since I have updated pictures! We have been super busy, so you'll have to get two different posts today.

First of all, most of you know that my friend and sorority sister, Amy Waltz, from SWT was diagnosed with breast cancer last March. She is doing awesome and is kicking some serious cancer a$$! She has been so incredible through all of this and it has been so heart warming and inspiring to see how she has handled this and all of the awesome friends and family that she has around her. Long story short, she had a team of 270 people racing for the cure along with her. We were Waltz' Warriors and our awesome shirts won 2nd place in the t-shirt contest.
In a moment of insanity, I thought that it would be a swell idea to register the boys for the race and haul them downtown at 6:30am with 30,000 other people. Jennifer and Sofie came in town for the weekend too. So, we had a double jogger, a single jogger and three kids between the two of us. We finally found our group and did our best to keep up with everyone.
Let me go ahead and say that I didn't take ANY of these pictures. They were all the work of Jennifer Hancock, who is now a photographer and she's awesome. www.jennyhartgrove.com
Here are the kids getting ready to go! They were bummed that I wouldn't let them out of the stroller to "race" and kept asking the whole time if they were winning. Such boys.

Here is me, Jennifer and Katie. After the race, we all went back to First Pres. for a great lunch and had a chance to catch up with all the girls who had come in town for the big race. While we were waiting, Jen got some great shots of the boys!

After the race, we came back and got rested up and ready for a fun night out. All of the old DZ's and some of Amy's super fun friends got together for dinner and then a few of us went to the new Wine Bar in Pearland (very fun, BTW!). Matt stayed and got the kids all fed and put all FOUR to bed. Nilza stayed and spent the night and then he came and met us out. Good times!

Jennifer and I...

All of the girls with Amy...All in all, a super fun weekend!
